In my TEDx talk, I explore the crucial role of psychological preparation for pilots, who operate in some of the most high-pressure environments imaginable. Drawing on my background as an Olympic medalist and a performance psychologist, I delve into the rigorous training and specific mental requirements pilots should undergo to minimize risks and ensure safety at every level.

I discuss critical procedures and safety measures that can prevent accidents, both before and during a flight, and emphasize the importance of resilience and mental focus in overcoming high-stakes situations. Pilots face immense pressure, unpredictable risks, and the constant need for quick decision-making. Through this talk, I outline how mental preparation, focus, and the right psychological tools can help pilots handle these challenges with confidence and poise.

Additionally, I reflect on my experience as an athlete and how the principles of performance psychology can be applied to the aviation world, offering practical strategies that inspire not only safety but also excellence under pressure.
